Current Vacancies: Suicide Bereavement Liaison Worker

Location: Based in Cambridge with travel throughout Cambridgeshire

Salary: £26,325 (Pro Rata – £10,530 for 15 hours) One year fixed term contract

Hours: 15 hours per week

Lifecraft, based in Cambridge, is an innovative user led organisation for adults, supporting the wellbeing and recovery of those who experience mental distress.

We are looking for a compassionate and empathic individual, who is mature in understanding and depth of experience to be able to set up and deliver a service for people bereaved as a result of possible suicide. Those affected will include family members, friends, colleagues etc. Contact will be made reactively as incidences occur, within a given timeframe and a follow-up visit provided. You will be listening and offering support, information and advice where needed. Individuals will then be signposted to organisations that offer on-going longer term support.

The successful person will be able to:

  • Coordinate and develop the service to provide immediate contact and support to those bereaved and affected by a possible suicide across the county of Cambridgeshire
  • Liaise with other agencies eg the Police and the Coroner’s Office to receive confidential information.
  • Provide emotional support, information and advice
  • Develop Partnership working between agencies
