Our Patron
Lifecraft is exceptionally lucky to have a patron who is dedicated their time to assist in promoting our work and helping us raise vital funds.
Lady Wilson (Caro)
During my early career working in Further Education, I became aware of the many pressures on the young people I was teaching and the impact that had on their mental health. From this experience I gained qualifications in Student Counselling and thereafter I combined teaching with counselling whenever possible. I hope my own experience of depression and anxiety made me better at both jobs.
When my husband, Richard Wilson, became Master of Emmanuel College and we moved to Cambridge I became involved with Lifecraft, first just by joining the Singing Group and then as a Trustee. I helped set up the Friends of Lifecraft and was able to organise several events at Emmanuel to help raise the profile of the organisation within the city and the university.
As a Patron I stand ready to support the Trustees and Staff as required and to build on the connections I have both within the Mill Road area and further afield. I wholeheartedly support the ethos and values of Lifecraft; the work it does is very special and very valuable.
Lifecraft lives up to its name; it both encourages the practice of the craft of life, and keeps people afloat in stormy times. It is a privilege to do what I can to help keep the ship in working order.
