West Anglia Crossroads Young Carers Project works with over 300 young carers in Hunts who are caring for family members who have long term illness, a physical disability, a mental health problems or who misuse drugs and alcohol.  The project gives young people the chance to meet others in similar situations, take time out from caring, have fun and talk through problems if they need to.

Providing information and advice for disabled people and carers, including parents of children with disabilities and special needs, living in Huntingdonshire.

Providing education, treatment, prevention and support for people with alcohol related problems, their relatives, carers and others affected by someone’s drinking behaviour.

Supporting parents who are struggling to cope for reasons such as illness, disability, bereavement or social isolation.

Providing a Carers Information Pack, Carers Emergency Card, courses and training for Carers, a Newsletter, social events, advocacy, support groups, a resource library and internet access for Carers.

A service user led organisation working with individuals who have experienced mental distress, promoting wellness and recovery. Their Well Life project aims to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of people who have experienced mental health problems as well as those who have not as well as reduce the stigma and discrimination linked to mental ill health.

The Hunts & Fens employment Service provides support to people with mental health needs to find suitable employment, volunteering and training opportunities.  They work with their clients to establish the type of work, employer and working practices that will fit with their aspirations.
